Tim's Oriental Market: Bringing a Local Market Online for the First Time
Overview: Tim’s Market had built its business and reputation without a website or e-commerce presence. The opportunity was to bring that established brand online for the first time—creating both its first website and its first online shopping experience. The project combined website and e-commerce strategy, UX, content, and Shopify implementation to translate the experience of an established local market into a digital platform that could introduce the business, tell its story, showcase its products, and enable customers to shop online.
The Challenge: Creating a first website meant starting without an existing digital structure. Content, navigation, product organization, customer journeys, and e-commerce functionality all needed to be defined from the ground up. At the same time, the digital experience needed to feel authentic to a business that already had an established identity and loyal customer base while introducing an entirely new way for customers to interact with the market.
Website & E-Commerce Strategy: The site was structured around both brand discovery and shopping, with information architecture and navigation designed to help customers explore the market, find products, learn about its history and services, and move naturally into the purchase experience. Shopify provided the e-commerce foundation, with products and collections organized to support intuitive discovery and a streamlined path from browsing through checkout.
Content & Ongoing Optimization: Content extended the experience beyond individual products, incorporating the market’s story, recipes, and other supporting information that reflects the character of the physical business. Following launch, ongoing support has included website and content management, Shopify updates, testing, and optimization to ensure the platform continues to perform as the business’s digital needs evolve.
